Saw Iron Maiden last night
LOVED IT!!!!!
Why, well last time they were around they played there new album..there WHOLE new album. We got to hear about 2-3 classic songs and that was it. And while good it wasn't great. This year however they decided to give the fans what they wanted a nice retrospective of their best years.
With a stage setup similar to a cross between Powerslave and Somewhere in Time, meaning an Egyptian future theme. The boys put on one hell of a show, not every note was perfect and sometimes Bruce couldn't do the long screams of old but for the most part they were spot on.
Song list: Aces High, 2 Minutes to Midnight, Iron Maiden, Run to the Hills, Moonchild, Fear of the Dark, Heaven Can Wait, Powerslave, The Trooper, Hallowed be Thy Name, Can I Play With Madness, Revelations, Number of the Beast, Wasted Years, and the one song I never thought I'd hear live: The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.

And Eddie there mascot came out in the form of a giant Mummy and a furteristic bounty hunter shooting the audience, I've seen him a bunch of times before, but it never gets old.
And the opening band was the Bassists own daughter Lauren Harris, who does female fronted rock, not as good as her dads band yet, and she's definately easy on the eyes.

It was also nice to see a lot of younger kids there. In fact a vast majority of the audience was under 26. THats a good sign that Metal won't just die out when it's current fans due. There was even a little kid, no more than 8 who was dancing and singing along almost right next to me. Made me feel good.
My kneck and throat have been sore all day but man was it fun. And whenever they stop touring, they start work on their next album. So in another 2 years I'll probably see them again.
